Xing Adds Contact Locator MapsApril 25th, 2008 at 5:56 pmSource:CenterNetworks
POPSignal co-founder Jay Meattle explained how the event got started, "Brian and I are really doing this to bring the tech community together in an informal environment. The more people from the tech and startup community we get to come to this event, the better for Boston’s tech community as a whole." There are some great sponsors making the event possible including: Microsoft, TripAdvisor (one of my favorite sites!), PerkettPR T3 Advisors and AtlasVenture. Check out all of the details for the event and register here using the following code: pop1cn. Be quick — we only have 30! Partner Links
To be honest, why do I care about my contacts on a map? Wouldn’t a simple list of cities be easier? I agree with Kristen but would take it a step further. If Xing wants to make an absolutely kickass map, they need to add in tons of business coverage. When you select a location, tons of local resources should be shown (tie into Yelp, and YellowPages.com). Even more importantly, a list of other Xing members who aren’t on my contact list but are in the selected location that might be good matches based on my characteristics. That’d be hot. Tim calls Xing one of the top German Web apps.
