Death is an unfortunate consequence of life, at least until science can prove otherwise. And while most of us would rather just avoid the subject entirely, the thought of having a sappy, cheesy funeral weighs heavy on some people. MyWonderfulLife, a Minnesota-based startup that launched earlier this month, is going to help you make sure that doesn’t happen.

You’re first asked to create profile detailing many of your last wishes, including the type of burial you’d like, who’d you’d like to have as speakers, and any music you’d like to have played. You can also upload a photoalbum that you’d like to have projected during the ceremony. SGN is definitely on to something with these Wii-like iPhone games. They’ve had over 2 million downloads of iGolf and iBowl. And tonight they’ve released the next game in the series, iBaseball (iTunes link).

Like the other games it’s free, and you use the accelerometer in your iPhone to control game play. The application includes applause and game sounds, vibrates when a hit is made, and supports left handed game play. You can also challenge your friends to play, asynchronously for now but with direct head-to-head play coming soon says CEO Shervin Pishevar.

Both games extensively use the accelerometer to control game action, resulting in a Wii-like experience. The only problem is the high chance of throwing the iPhone through the nearest window.

If you’re already subscribed to Golf Vacation Insider or GolfWorld RSS feeds on your iPhone, the iGolf app from Palo Alto-based Social Gaming Network should be a healthy addition to fantasizing about your next birdie.

Originally, the iGolf app was released last week and has since seen over half a million downloads. In its basic form, you could go to the virtual driving range, choose a club, assume your best golf stance, and take a swing.

Today, SGN is issuing new par 3 and 4 holes and additional control features to the game. The application leverages the iPhone’s accelerometer technology for gaming, and could strike fear into the hearts of Wii players worldwide who remember their Wiimotes divebombing their TV sets a couple of years ago.

Be smart. No greasy McD’s french fries before iGolf.

“The launch of iGolf for iPhone marks a new era for SGN as we focus on integrating social gaming into a mobile platform to push the boundaries of the gaming experience for gamers and enthusiasts alike. Social networking features such as the viral nature of the game and the ability to challenge your friends has helped catapult it to the top of the iPhone App Store list,” said Shervin Pishevar, CEO of SGN.

By October 1st, SGN also plans to add left-handed controls and new audio controls that will allow players to set ‘applause’ sounds and the authentic ‘thwack’ sound made when the club hits the ball.

And the game is free, so there’s no reason not to download it. My high score was 214 at the driving range, so beat that. iGolf is currently available for download on the app store.

Postcards can be found at nearly every tourist destination around the world. And while they’re always a popular and cheap way to keep in touch with friends, they also suffer from being incredibly generic - every shop seems to sell the same dozen postcards, no matter where in a city you go.

A new startup called Hazel Mail is looking to give postcards a more personal touch, by helping users design and send custom cards. The process is simple: after uploading an image to the site, users add a brief message and the recipient’s address. Hazelmail then prints and ships the card from one of its globally distributed printers.

The application uses the iPhone’s accelerometer to detect a golf-swing like motion with the phone. Choose a club and swing the iPhone just like a golf club. Save your high scores and challenge your friends to beat your distance. Our best score with the driver so far is 406 yards.

The app is free, which will be appreciated by those of us who’ve spent untold numbers of quarters playing Golden Tee at the local bar. TechCrunch writer Jason Kincaid tests the app - see the video below.

Social Gaming Network Tuesday announced that it has completed its acquisition of (fluff)Friends, a Facebook game that lets people adopt virtual furry friends and interact with friends who also have virtual pets.

(fluff)Friends users can choose from a group of “fluff” pets that can be personalized to match the user’s personality. Once created, the pet can interact with other users and the game’s currency exchange system (which is probably the main reason why Social Gaming Network wanted this title, considering it turns into revenue for the game) has grown by an astounding 192 percent since January per spender.

The acquisition price was undisclosed, but the Social Gaming Network did say that current (fluff)Friends users won’t see any difference in gameplay after the acquisition.
